The talk - Paul will highlight the wicked problem nature of the climate challenges and introduce the concept of wicked solutions. Paul will then offer 5 examples of this with real life wicked solutions. Paul will end with a quick overview of Centre for Alternative Technology's offerings. There will be time for a quick Q&A before tea break.

The workshop - This will be done in breakout groups. It will explore firstly how adopting a multi-solving mindset can help get the most benefits from what we do. It will then go on to explore how Penrith can work in 4 key directions at once, alongside millions of others across the globe. Any Penrith group from household, to a shop, to a Wildlife Trust, to a School, to an NGO, or a small village can adopt a 4 directions approach and make things happen.
- Downwards - the actions within their control.
- Sideways - share and ask for good examples, also link with orgs that have or offer climate co-benefits.
- Upwards - lobby for the policies, resources you need .
- Inwards - skills, knowledge and information to help you - e.g. carbon literacy, CAT training etc
