Grow your own at the Penrith community polytunnel scheme - help with communal growing and have your own patch! A polytunnel, shed and several raised beds are available. The scheme is on Greystoke Road at the entrance to Skiddaw View - map - ie off Newton Road south of Gilwilly. Please read the leaflet for more information.
Malcolm Carruthers says, "We welcome anyone in Penrith to get involved and grow your fruit and veg. Help is available if needed, eg tools, seeds and plants."
The project started in 2015 with the support of Eden Housing Association. An informal committee manages the garden. The project has been supported by PACT and Penrith and Eden District Freegle.
